In July of 1947 an artefact of extraterrestrial origin crashed to the earth's surface near Roswell, New Mexico USA. The government sealed off the area and secretly salvaged the object. They lied to the public, providing a fake story that all that crashed was a weather balloon. This cover-up is maintained to this day.
