I'm sad to report that Reverend Brian Branche, aka the
Boxing Vicar, has died. Brian presented The
Changing Consciousness Show on Critical Mass Radio almost from the launch
of the station in 2012. As his name suggests, he was once a boxer, but also an
ordained priest in the Church of England. After his retirement from the pulpit
he began to develop new insights into the nature of God, soul and
consciousness. As is often the problem when one experiences a spiritual
emergence, his personal life suffered; his marriage of many years broke down. However
he found love again in Germany
with a lady called Ruth, who ended up becoming a co-host on the show. He took
the brave decision to move there are live with her. He was seventy-five years
old when he passed away. This moving tribute by Lisa Shunkaha Wanagi of The Cry Freedom Show includes some
classic recordings of Brian and Ruth:

I got to know Brian when he joined the station and I really
enjoyed his shows. He also used to call me on Skype every now and again and
we'd talk for an hour or so about various subjects. It's sad that we lost Brian
very close to the anniversary of the passing of George Wilson, presenter of The Prisoner Show, see: http://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/cmrs-reverend-george-tribute-special.html.
Rest in peace, Brian. Wherever you are now, I hope you're OK. Maybe I'll see
you again one day.
