I
always keep a careful eye on the statistics I get with HPANWO Radio. I've found
that some programmes are more popular than others and if you examine the
episode list on my Spreaker account you'll be able to see that yourself. I've
noticed something very strange happening with my most recent post, HPANWO Show
227 including my latest interview with Stephen Bassett, see: http://hpanwo-radio.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/programme-227-podcast-stephen-bassett.html.
I first posted the advance notice for the live broadcast on Tuesday the 28th of
February. Within a few hours it had received over four hundred hits; about what
I'd expect because Steve is a famous figure in the UFO/conspiracy/paranormal
community. It also matches the reaction to the previous occasions he has been
featured on the show. As of now the notice has had over 460 views. Therefore I
found it very strange that when I posted the podcast notice on Thursday night,
the 2nd of March, straight after the broadcast ended, it was almost ignored.
What's more at of the time of writing, the evening of Friday the 3rd, it has
only had 65 hits. See:
Also
when I looked at the counter on the player I saw that it has only been played
106 times in the last twenty-four hours. (This figure does not include direct
downloads, but that still does not tally with normal activity on my station.)
This is very low for me; I would normally expect almost three times that on
average; even more for such a high-profile guest. Poor Steve is going to think
nobody is listening to him. See:
I
don't understand why this has happened, but I'm not the only person I know who
has had similar problems with social media of all kinds. Some YouTubers have
had their uploads demonetized and unusual spontaneous flags or copyright claims
made against them. Also they have found their viewing figures dropping over the
last few months due to the system's new search algorithms; a good example is
"Computing Forever". Twitter is even worse, see here for details:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se98GCRFNJ4.
This kind of thing is censorship by stealth. The social media giants want to
silence people with views outside the authoritative political framework, but know
they can't do it officially; so they do it sneakily, claiming to be taking
action against "fake news", "trolling" and "low
quality Tweets". The question is, have they now decided to take such
action against HPANWO Radio?
